Provost's message of condolence to New Zealand
South Ayrshire Provost Helen Moonie has sent a message of condolence to the people of New Zealand following the terror attack in Christchurch.
Provost Moonie said: “Our hearts go out to the people of Christchurch and New Zealand as they begin to come to terms with the evil that has visited their country.
"It is impossible to imagine why anyone would want to attack people in a place of prayer, a place of solace, a place of peace – and to do so in a planned and targeted way is truly abhorrent. The thoughts, sympathies and prayers of everyone in South Ayrshire are with the people of New Zealand today and we join them in their shared grief.”
