RESCUE HELICOPTERS HMS GANNET TO MAKE FINAL FLYPAST IN AYRSHIRE

Thursday the 14th of January is your chance to wave farewell to the Royal Navy Search and Rescue flight based at HMS Gannet in Prestwick.


Two search and rescue Mk5 Sea Kings accompanied by a green Mk4 'junglie' commando Sea King will fly in formation around the country as the unit does one final lap of their area of operations.

The responsibility for helicopter search and rescue was handed over the UK Helicopter search and rescue service based at the new purpose built facility at Prestwick Airport operating the Sikorsky S-92 aircraft.
