SPANISH PLUME: Heatwave On The Way For Ayrshire

A Heatwave could be on the way for Ayrshire by next weekend and early next week thanks to a spell of VERY warm weather pushing up from Europe otherwise known as a "Spanish Plume".

Temperatures from Next weekend look set to increase drastically with temperatures set to hit 24c by the bank holiday weekend, lately temperatures have struggled above 13c over the past 2 weeks however that looks set to change with summer just around the corner.

ADN Weather Forecaster Martin Henderson Issued the Following forecast for the week ahead:

"AYRSHIRE WEATHER FOR THE WEEK AHEAD - HEADLINE: FINALLY BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE SUMMER BY THE BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND"

"Today it was normal temperatures for January, however, as the week progresses, temperatures should gradually rise to normal and even above normal by the weekend. The rain has cleared, however, a few thundery showers may clip AYRSHIRE in the next few hours. A grass frost is possible as skies clear towards dawn (gardeners beware)."

"Monday through the rest of the week bright, a few showers early in the week but settling down from midweek."

"Thursday through the long weekend should be dry and fine. Temperatures around normal but after recent winter temperatures, it should finally feel like summer."

"There are signs that it could heat up further after the weekend"
