Storm Christoph looks set to bring Blizzard like conditions across Ayrshire along with 60MPH wind gusts at times.
The Met-Office have already issued a Yellow warning for Heavy Rain with flooding possible across Some parts of Ayrshire between Tomorrow and Wednesday however the worst of Storm Christoph won't affect Ayrshire until Thursday where current weather models suggest Heavy Snow and Blizzard like conditions could be possible for a Time during the early hours and into Thursday morning.
A deep area of low pressure just to the North of Scotland will be responsible of Thursday's eventful weather however beforehand the low pressure will move across the UK from the west on Tuesday and Wednesday bringing a period of Heavy Rain, warnings could be updated over the next 12 hours and it's very likely Snow Warnings will be issued soon.
The Met-Office have issued the Following Rain Warning:
"Persistent, and at times heavy rain will develop across Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and the far north of England during Monday night. Rainfall accumulations of 20-30 mm are expected quite widely and some places, mostly over higher ground, could see 30-50 mm rain. This wet weather will clear eastwards early on Wednesday."
"Later on, Tuesday rain will also turn to snow over hills, initially down to 300-400 m and then down to 100-200 m Tuesday evening and night. The most widespread snow will be over southern Scotland where accumulations of 2-5 cm are possible above 200-300 m and 5-10 cm may fall above 300-400 m."
SEPA has also issued a Flood Alert across Ayrshire:
"Persistent rainfall is expected to move into southern Scotland during the early hours of Tuesday and will continue for much of the day." "There is some uncertainty about where the heaviest rain will occur, and how much will fall as snow. However, flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible from small rivers and surface water, particularly in known trouble spots. There could also be disruption to travel."
