Third Sector and SME focus for South Ayrshire procurement seminar

Third Sector organisations and SMEs in South Ayrshire looking to find out about becoming public sector suppliers are being invited to a one-off seminar on sustainable procurement.

Sustainable procurement is a method of buying goods and services which balances best value against wider environmental and social benefits. The workshop is particularly recommended for Third Sector organisations.

As well as explaining the basics behind the sustainable procurement process the workshop will cover a range of topics including: procurement for supported businesses and the third sector; community benefits; the living wage; being a "Best practice employer"; life cycle costing; and delivering 'Added Value'.

This event is suitable for businesses that have a good understanding of public sector procurement (completed Level 1 or have equivalent experience) and for those looking to understand how best to demonstrate community benefit in their bid.

The event is taking place at the Horizon Hotel, Esplanade, Ayr, KA7 1DT, between 9:30am and 12:30pm on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
