Three arrested for alleged theft by housbreaking in Kilmarnock and New Cumnock

Three men aged 33, 39 and 41 have been arrested for alleged theft by housebreaking to properties in the Peatland Quadrant and Wellpark Avenue areas of Kilmarnock and Lime Road, New Cumnock between 14th and 16th April 2017.‎

All three men will be the subject of reports to the Procurator Fiscal. Chief Inspector John Cairns, Area Commander for East Ayrshire said: “Crimes of dishonesty remain a priority area of policing for officers in East Ayrshire. These arrests are as a result of enquiries by local officers and assistance provided by members of the public. I am grateful for this help. “I would encourage members of the community to take appropriate steps to ensure properties are kept secure and valuable items are locked away out of sight. Further information on keeping your home secure, is available on the Keep Safe pages of our website http://www.scotland.police.uk/keep-safe/home-and-personal-property/ “I would also encourage people to report any suspicious activity by speaking to local officers or by contacting police via 101 (in an emergency always dial 999). Information can also be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained."
