As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface 1km of the A737 between Monkcastle and Dalgarven, south of Dalry.

In order to deliver this project as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a weekend closure of the trunk road from Friday 28th of June to Monday 1stof July.
Dayle Gillespie, Scotland TranServ’s lead designer on the project said:
“We’ve been working alongside local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully plan these resurfacing works. In order to keep disruption to a minimum for commuters and local businesses, we’re looking to complete this short programme of work over a weekend, ahead of the peak holiday season.”
It will be necessary to implement the closure of the trunk carriageway during the following times:
8pm on Friday 28th June to 6am on Monday 1st July
Alan Murray, Scotland TranServ’s Principle Roads Design Engineer added:
“Scotland TranServ has been working to improve the road surface of the A737, with a number of projects taking place over the next few months. On behalf of Transport Scotland, nearly a million pounds of road surface improvements will be delivered over the summer months.”
Local diversions will be in place throughout this short programme of work, with drivers advised to allow extra time for their journeys. Live trunk road updates are available on trafficscotland.org, or by following @trafficscotland on Twitter.
