As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface 1km of the A77 Southbound between Bogend Toll and Whitelees Farm, near Symington.

In order to complete this short programme of work as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a series of overnight closures of the trunk road between the 10th and 13th of October.

John Clarke, Scotland TranServ’s project design lead on the scheme said:

“Scotland TranServ has been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully schedule this programme for minimal impact on commuters and businesses using this busy route. It will be necessary to implement these overnight closures in order that Scotland TranServ can deliver this £80k project as quickly and safely as we can.”

In order to deliver this project quickly, we will require to implement overnight closures of the trunk road during the following times:

8pm on Thursday 10th until 6am on Friday 11th October

8pm on Friday 11th until 6am on Saturday 12th October

8pm on Saturday 12th until 6am on Sunday 13th October

Local diversions will be in place each overnight, with drivers and particularly those using the airport, advised to allow some extra time for their journey. Special arrangements have been made for emergency service vehicles. No additional arrangements have been made for windfarm traffic.
