Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will shortly be resurfacing 640m of the A76 north of Mauchline.
In order to complete this £130k project as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary implement a series of overnight closures of the trunk road between Monday 24th and Friday 28th June.
Omar Sarwar, Scotland TranServ’s Assistant Engineer said:
“We have been working in consultation with the local authority, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully plan this short programme of works. To deliver the project with minimal disruption to commuters and businesses we need to close the trunk road overnight. Because of the depth of the treatment, the carriageway will also require time to cool and cure. This means some daytime lane closures will also be necessary.
“To further reduce the impact on the travelling public, our Network maintenance colleagues will also complete a surface patching scheme under the same programme of traffic management. We would like to thank drivers for their patience while this important programme of works is completed.”
In order to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible it will be necessary to implement the following traffic management:
Overnight closures each night from 8pm to 6am from Monday 24th to Friday 28th June Daytime lane closures from 6am to 8pm each day from Monday 24th to Friday 28th June
We would ask drivers allow some extra time for their journeys, with traffic modelling contractors forecasting delays of up to 10 minutes during peak daytime travel. Motorists are advised to visit trafficscotland.org, or to follow @trafficscotland on Twitter for live updates.
