The standard of catering at a South Ayrshire school has been recognised with a national award for hygiene. Troon Primary School has been unveiled as South Ayrshire's 24th school to land a coveted Eat Safe Award, for going above and beyond the legal requirements.
All South Ayrshire schools demand excellent performance for food safety and hygiene.
However, the Food Standards Scotland's Eat Safe Awards demonstrates an exceptional work ethic that delivers first-class preparation by catering staff.
Councillor Ian Cochrane, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Environment said the award was a great way to round off the year, "Healthy, nutritious meals help children to focus on their studies and get the most out of their education.
"I'd like to congratulate all the staff at Troon primary for their hard work and dedication, with families and staff safe in the knowledge that their children are being well served each and every day."
23 other South Ayrshire schools have already gained Eat Safe Awards: Alloway Primary, Ayr Academy, Barassie Primary, Belmont Academy, Braehead Primary, Carrick Academy, Coylton Primary, Dalmilling Primary, Doonfoot Primary, Dundonald Primary, Forehill Primary, Girvan Academy, Glenburn Primary, Heathfield Primary, Kincaidston Primary, Kingcase Primary, Kyle Academy, Marr College, Monkton Primary, Muirhead Primary, Prestwick Academy, Queen Margaret Academy, and St John's Primary.
