Two appear in court over Girvan murder

Two men have appeared in court charged with murdering a father-of-four in a South Ayrshire town.

Kern Allison, 18, and Nicholas Goodwin, 24, are accused of killing 44-year-old John Kiltie, who was found outside his home in Park Road, Girvan, on Saturday.

Allison, of Maybole, and Goodwin, of Ayr, made no pleas nor declarations at Ayr Sheriff Court.

Both were remanded in custody for further investigation.

Police had earlier announced the arrest of a third man, aged 27, in connection with Mr Kiltie's death. He is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

Over £3,000 has been raised for John's family with a local business making it public that once the final amount of money has been raised, they will double it.
