UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has announced that the UK will basically lockdown for 3 weeks (and will be reviewed further at the end of that time) in the government's plans to fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.
The number of people infected with the virus has risen day by day and the UK government had an emergency cobra meeting inside 10 downing street today. The prime minister took to the podium outside his office in london to address the nation, live on TV.
People will only be allowed to leave their home for the following very limited purposes:
Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
One form of exercise a day - for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household
Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home
