Police Scotland have confirmed the death of a 35 year-old man following a road traffic collision on the A77 yesterday (Thursday 17th January 2019).

Road Policing Officers are continuing enquiries and appealing for information after a 35 year-old man died after a road crash on the A77 at Kilmarnock on Thursday 17 January 2019.
Around 1.45pm on Thursday afternoon, the 35 year-old man was driving a Fiat Ducato van southbound on the A77 near to the Meiklewood Interchange in Kilmarnock when it struck a lorry parked in a lay-by at the side of the carriageway.
Emergency services attended however the 35 year-old driver of the Fiat van was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 27 year-old driver of the lorry was uninjured.
Constable John Denholm is appealing for witnesses. He said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the crash, or anyone who saw the Fiat Ducato van driving on the A77 before the crash happened. If anyone has dash-cam footage that may help our investigation, I would ask them to get in contact with officers.
“Anyone with information should contact Road Policing Officers at Irvine through 101 quoting reference number 1894 of 17th January 2019.”
