Vital roadworks are set to close part of the busy A78 next week.
Essential £148,000 maintenance will take place between the Dutchhouse and Monktonhead roundabouts from Monday night. And the Greenock-bound carriageway will close for three nights while the road is resurfaced and road markings are reinstated. Workers will be on the road from 8pm-6am with traffic management remaining in place until next Thursday morning. Drivers are warned to expect delays with only one lane operating each way after 6am each day.
Andy Fraser, of Scotland TranServ, said: "This vital maintenance scheme will improve the longevity of this section of the A78 for years to come and benefit over 23,000 road users who travel this route each day.
"We have carefully planned the works to be carried out out overnight when traffic flows are lighter, however we would urge road users, particularly those travelling to Prestwick Airport and the ferry terminal, to plan ahead to avoid delays
