WEATHER: Heavy rain set to hit Ayrshire from this evening

A large band of heavy rain is set to pass over Ayrshire this evening continuing throughout most of tomorrow, although a weather warning hasn’t been issued for Ayrshire some places will still see around 40/50mm of Rain in a 24h period.

An Amber warning has been issued for the far South East corner of Scotland so if your planning to travel that way tomorrow it’s worth taking note.


Please take ale care on Ayrshire’s roads as local surface water and minor flooding is possible especially by Thursday afternoon.


Thursday:


Cloudy and cool, with outbreaks of rain, heavy at times especially in Lanarkshire. Argyll drier, with some morning sunshine before it clouds over, and less cool. Winds easing.


Maximum temperature 14 °C.


Outlook for Friday to Sunday:


Friday starting cloudy, patchy rain, then brighter with sunshine and a few showers.


Some drier weather with sunny spells over the weekend but also scattered showers, heavy at times.
