Woman, 88, dies after Largs HGV collision

An 88-year-old woman has died following a collision in Largs on Wednesday, 1 April, 2026.

Around 10.05am, the female pedestrian was crossing Main Street when she was struck by an HGV being driven by a 51-year-old man.

Emergency services attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who died.

“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

“We urge anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us. We ask any drivers in Main Street around the time of the crash to check their dashcam footage and please get in touch if it holds anything which may be relevant to our investigation.”
