Woman arrested after a drugs recovery in Irvine

DRUGS RECOVERY - IRVINE


A woman have been arrested and charged by police following the recovery of class A & B drugs in Irvine.



About 1020 hours on Saturday 2 February 2019, members of Irvine Locality Policing Team executed a search warrant at an address in the town’s Green Avenue. During a search of the property alleged class A and B drugs, believed to be heroin and cannabis, were recovered.


A 38 year old woman was arrested and charged for offences including being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug. A full report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.


Constable Calum Rodger, of the Irvine Locality Policing Team, said: “This recovery was as a direct result of the information we received from the Irvine community.


“Support from members of the public is key to our work and this recovery demonstrates our commitment to acting on the information we receive, to tackling drug misuse and drug related crime, and preventing these drugs from circulation within North Ayrshire and beyond.



“I would encourage anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their area to contact their local policing team by dialling ‘101’, or in an emergency by dialling ‘999’.
