The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out shortly before 7pm this evening to reports of a person in the water near Troon.
The team responded immediately with one team member getting fully kitted into water rescue equipment before departing station and proceeding south to Troon.
Both RNLI Troon Lifeboat and Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked to the incident.
Whilst proceeding en route, an update was received advising the female had been successfully recovered from the water by Troon Inshore Lifeboat and was being taken back to Troon Lifeboat station a short distance away.
The team proceeded to Troon lifeboat station and met up with the crew from Troon Lifeboat and Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team who were also on scene.
An ambulance arrived a short time thereafter with the casualty being left in the care of paramedics, police and the lifeboat crew.
With all persons safe and no further Coastguard assistance required, the team has stood down and returned to station to complete the necessary paperwork and repack equipment used before booking off duty and heading home, or for some, to get ready for work.
