A spell of snow is expected from mid morning until mid afternoon Wednesday, mainly over the high ground of the Southern Uplands and parts of the Southern and Western Highlands.
Some longer journey times are likely, with delays to some bus and train journeys possible. There is a small chance that power cuts will occur.
Chief Forecaster's assessment
A spell of snow is expected from mid morning until mid afternoon on Wednesday.
The snow is expected mainly over high ground with only temporary slushy accumulations at lower levels where mostly rain is forecast.
1 to 3 cm is likely in places above 200 m with 5 to 10 cm possible above 300 m.
Strong winds will accompany the snow with drifting likely on the highest hill routes.
