Yellow warning for thunderstorms issued across PARTS of Ayrshire this afternoon

Scattered slow-moving, thundery showers are expected to develop in the afternoon and may bring disruption to travel.

Although many places will miss the worst, heavy and thundery showers, some containing hail, are expected to develop.

There is the potential for torrential downpours in places, giving up to 30 or 40 mm rain in an hour or two.

Showers and thunderstorms will gradually ease through the evening.
