Arctic blast set to bring cold temperatures and blizzard conditions across Scotland
From Thursday a cold arctic marine mass will set over Scotland bringing cold and windy conditions across Scotland.
Weather forecasters are suggesting that Blizzards are possible even to Southern areas later in the week as the cold weather sets in with day temperatures struggling over 4c and lows of -6c at night.
ADN weather forecaster Chris Hendrie added the following...
"This weekend has seen temperatures either around or slightly above average but after a mild and wet start to next week things will start to turn cold from Thursday"
"An arctic air mass will arrive on Thursday bringing strong winds and blizzard like conditions mainly up North but as the weekend approaches Southern areas and even Ayrshire could see some snow"
"However it's still to early to say where and how much snow but no matter the outcome it will be windy and bitterly cold"
This will be the first major cold spell before Christmas with forecasters suggesting that weather warnings could be issued mid week so please keep updated.
