Ardrossan coastguard respond to emergency landing at Prestwick Airport

TEAM RESPOND TO INBOUND EMERGENCY AT AIRPORT

The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out as part of a multi-agency response to an inbound aircraft at Prestwick Airport.

The team responded immediately alongside Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team, Troon Lifeboat and all branches of the emergency services.

The team arrived at the designated emergency RVP along with emergency service colleagues as part of a well rehearsed emergency response plan with the aircraft landing safely a short time later.

With the aircraft safely on the ground and no further assistance required, all HM Coastguard SAR assets were stood down to return to their respective stations.

The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to those in need at the coast and beyond.
