Ayr's famous Haunted House cancelled due to current Coronavirus restrictions

Ayr's famous Haunted House which usually attracts hundreds of Trick or treaters has been cancelled this year due to the current Coronavirus restrictions on social distancing.

The famous Haunted House which is operated by the Wilson family every Halloween has grown popular for every year that's gone by with preparation usually taking almost a month covering the entire house in spooky Halloween decorations.

The Wilson family have however made it clear the Haunted House will be back next year even bigger and better than before.

The Wilson's issued the following statement:

"It’s the 1st of October, which is really the best first day of the best month of the year! We would normally be filling the house with treats and the decorations would be being pulled from their resting places in order to create Forehill’s ‘Haunted House’! However, after much discussion with all the witches, monsters and ghouls, we have taken the decision to cancel this years haunted house and trick or treating. Our reason being, we have on average every year around 800 children and adults coming through the haunted house and queues of around 30 mins to get in. As much as we love seeing you all and helping you create scary Halloween memories we feel that this year, under the current circumstances, we cannot do this and keep all you witches and wizards safe from Covid, no matter how many spells we cast over the place. We hope that you all understand, we need to put your health and my families health first. So for the first time in over a decade we won’t be doing Halloween, but don’t you worry, we will be back bigger and better next year and we can wait to see you all." "Until then, stay safe." "Love from The Haunted

Halloweened House!"
