Ayr's very own Monopoly released

The makers of the new game say:

Tomorrow’s ‘Big Reveal’ sees:

  • Culzean Castle crowned the newly unveiled ‘Mayfair of Ayr’.

  • And completing the game’s most expensive set is  Ayr Racecourse, which gets to replace Park Lane from the London MONOPOLY original.

  • A unique set of three Burns landmarks, also get to feature .. comprising of: Brig O’Doon, Burns Cottage and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.

  • Other landmarks getting to star on the board include Ayr Town Hall, Ayr United FC, Ayr rugby, the Kyle Centre, the Wallace Tower, Grenan Castle, The Grain Exchange, Belleisle Park and St. John’s Tower.

  • The four train stations from the original board will be taking on a ‘travel’ theme, consisting of: Glasgow Prestwick Airport, Auld Brig, Ayr railway station and the Electric Brae.

The makers of this new Ayr version of the world’s most famous board game are proudly describing the new game as:

“A Love Letter to Ayr”. 

The new board is being produced by Winning Moves UK - who are producing this game under official license from the MONOPOLY brand, owned by Hasbro.

The Ayr MONOPOLY dice sees Culzean Castle landing on the game’s most expensive square Mayfair.

The National Trust for Scotland’s Operations Manager at Culzean Castle and Country Park Gareth Clingan says:

“We are very honoured to take such a prestigious spot on the board and we hope that this encourages Ayr MONOPOLY players to pop along for a visit over the coming months.”

All of the squares are exclusively. And Very many of the Chance and Community Chest cards are Ayr themed too – and fun. One card even rewards players for As well as ALL of the squares like Mayfair and Park Lane being exclusively Ayr landmarks and addresses, most of the Chance and Community Chest cards are themed too. One card rewards players for putting their litter in a bin so not inadvertently feeding the seagulls!.

Whilst a second one sees players scoop up two hundred MONOPOLY dollars for “hearing a ghost” at Culzean Castle.

Three charities each get to feature on their very own Community Chest squares, following a public vote. They are: Whiteleys Retreat, Cash for Kids and Dunaskin Doon Band, whose spokesperson Fiona Waddington says: “We are delighted to have been voted onto the board, many thanks for everyone who took the time to vote for us.”

The new edition goes on sale from 10am tomorrow (20th October) at all good toy and book stores including WHSmith, Waterstonesand The Works – as well as very widely online,including on Amazon.
