BREAKING: PM predicts financial impact of second UK wide lockdown would be "Financially disastrous"

PM Boris Johnson has said this afternoon that a second UK wide lockdown would be "financially disastrous" for the UK.

Boris also pledged he will do everything in his power to avoid a second UK wide lockdown as opinions towards one isn't what people want.

Asked by Julian Knight of Sky News whether the UK could afford another national lockdown, the PM said it would be "completely wrong" to impose one.

Boris went on to say:

"I don't want a second national lockdown, I think it would be completely wrong for this country. "We are going to do everything in our power to prevent it. "Can we afford it? I very much doubt that the financial consequences would be anything but disastrous."
