Coastguard 999 helicopter called to help with search for missing man from Annbank


POLICE Scotland are still seeking the assistance of the public with the hope of getting missing Graham Johnstone of Annbank, Ayrshire, back home safely.


Coastugard 999, search and rescue helicopter has been called to help with the search of missing 70 year old, Graham Johnstone. It's believed to be the new helicopters first full search mission.


The rescue helicopter has been searching the River Ayr from Annbank, south towards Ayr.

Members of the public are also out searching surrounding local countryside areas of Annbank.

Mr Johnstone was reported missing yesterday and has been missing from 10:40am on the 1st of January, when he left his home in Whitehill Crescent in Annbank, Ayrshire.

He was wearing a black zipped top, beige trousers, a fawn coloured cardigan, and may also be wearing a hat.

Mr Johnstone enjoys walking alongside the local rivers and routes, and although Graham is in good health, his family are extremely worried that he has failed to return home, and just want him home safe.

Ayrshire Police Division said: "Police resources, such as the dog unit, have been involved in the search for Mr Johnstone, however, attempts to locate him have so far proved unsuccessful.

If anyone has any information or has seen Mr Graham Johnstone, please contact officers at Ayr Police Office on 101 as soon as possible.
