EXCLUSIVE: Red Arrows confirmed for Scottish International Airshow 2016


The Red Arrows were today, officially confirmed for the Scottish International Airshow 2016, the Ayrshire Daily News can reveal.


The worlds famous RAF display team will be flying it's way into the skies of Ayr for the Scottish International Airshow 2016 after last years successful display at the Ayr Low Green, which attracted over 120,000 visitors.

This is just one of the many fantastic aircrafts lined up for this years display said event organisers.

The free seafront show, which features a whole load of incredible planes and attracts tens of thousands of people to Ayr will take place on Saturday the 3rd of September on the Ayr Low Green.

The Red Arrows, who are known for their daring displays and breathtaking mid-air stunts, will perform on the Saturday.

This comes just hours after it was revealed the beautiful B25 Mitchell will be making her way from the Netherlands as the first confirmed International aircraft, she will feature on each day of the NEWLY planned 3 day event.

Doug Maclean, the Event Manager for the Airshow exclusively told the Ayrshire Daily News of the new three day event, which will be designed and put in place adding the Friday into the schedule for the first time ever and the existing Sunday is to be a new and exciting family day out, all will be revealed soon.

Doug went on to say: "We would like to thank everyone who came to the last two Airshow's at Ayr and it simply wouldn't go ahead without the support of these guys and our main sponsors.

"I am really excited and thrilled to be saying the Red Arrows will be making an appearance and will perform a display again this year, and it's only one of the many exciting aircrafts we have lined up.

"We would like to get local businesses involved even more this year as the event has already brought in over £7million to the towns economy in the past two years, and we hope to extend this further."

We video interviewed Doug this evening about the Red Arrows exclusive release, and he talks further about the massive infrastructure in putting such an event together.

The company changed it's name from "The Scottish Airshow" to "The Scottish International Airshow" officially two weeks ago, in a bid to bring more exotic aircrafts, we announced yesterday.
