Flood Alert issued for Ayrshire

Persistent rainfall is expected to move into southern Scotland during the early hours of Tuesday and will continue for much of the day.

There is some uncertainty about where the heaviest rain will occur, and how much will fall as snow. However, flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible from small rivers and surface water, particularly in known trouble spots. There could also be disruption to travel.

Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
