Girvan carer avoids jail and gets issued with unpaid work after dragging an 80 yer old man!
The Girvan carer shouted at the 80 year old man, straight in the face before pushing him.
A carer who dragged an 80 year old dementia patient by the collar has been punished with an unpaid work order.
Jessie Bell 55 roughly handled James Connolly, 80, when she worked at private nursing home Ainslie Manor in Girvan.
Bell grabbed him by the neck and held his hand behind his back on January 31st 2015 at the care home.
She was found guilty after an earlier trial at Ayr Sheriff Court, however, the unemployed mother of three denied ill-treating James by placing his hand up behind his back and grabbing him by the neck and pushing him.
The court heard how Bell who suffers from chronic pulmonary disease (COPD) had been shouting into his face. She said she had been trying to keep him away from the emergency exit for his own safety. Last week she was in the dock again to learn her fate.
Sheriff Montgomery sentenced Bell at the Ayr sheriff court to 120 hours of unpaid work. The sheriff previously blasted that she had “no place in the care sector.”
