Heart breaking news as brave Princess Tilly loses illness battle
BRAVE Tilly sadly passed away this morning after losing her battle with the illness.
Tilly's family posted to Facebook this morning with the news on the Facebook page they had set up called "Save Princess Tilly".
The statement read:
It's with unbearably heavy hearts that we have to tell you all that our gorgeous wee Tilly went to heaven in the early hours of this morning. We are grateful that Tilly passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. As much as this feels like a horrible dream, there are no words to describe how proud we all are of the undeniable bravery our little princess has shown. You truly are an inspiration and will be missed beyond measure. Rest in peace wee wee baby, you'll remain in our hearts forever 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
We haven't updated Facebook for a while as
we felt it was better to deal with these past events with family members only. Tilly was unable to continue with Radiotherapy due to concerns for her safety. This decision was made after Tilly suffered a nasty seizure on Saturday 23rd of October. This resulted in Tilly being admitted to the intensive care unit, where she remained for two days.
The doctors told us that Tilly's condition was deteriorating fast and that we should expect the worst. Unfortunately, Tilly had another seizure the following weekend which caused her to stop breathing for a short time. The doctors told us that they would have to increase the anti seizure medication which could potentially cause Tilly's lungs to fail as this was a known side effect.
Miraculously, Tilly stabilised once again after the dose was increased. We decided it was best to take Tilly home on Monday as there wasn't anything more the doctors could do, plus Tilly had been constantly asking to get out of hospital.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all your amazing support and effort raising money and awareness for Tilly's treatment.
There are no words to describe how touched we all are with the amount of people have reached from our local communities and across the globe. We have been truly overwhelmed by peoples generosity and kindness throughout Tilly's battle.
It's with the deepest sadness we now have to ask people to stop fundraising for Tilly. The funds we have received, in time, will be distributed between other organisations in the fight against childhood brain cancer that support sufferers and their families. Once this has been decided, we will let you know where your fundraising has gone.
We will forever be grateful for your outstanding support and effort.
With all our love,
Tilly’s family and loved ones ❤❤❤"
