Police appeal for help to trace missing 36 year-old man

UPDATE: The man has been traced 'safe & well'.

Police Scotland is appealing for information to help trace a 36 year-old man missing from Irvine since Thursday.

Alexander Chalmers (36) was last see in Caldon Road, Irvine around 11 pm on Thursday 24 January 2019. He is described as 6ft, of medium build with short brown hair.


He has tattoos on his arms, including a panda and the word 'Ryan'. It is unknown what he was last wearing. He is believed to be driving a blue Ford Mondeo, reg DE56 BVY.


Inspector Darren Muir, Irvine Police Office, said: “Alexander has not been seen since Thursday and has been going through some personal issues recently.

He has missed a few appointments and as time goes on, his family and friends are growing increasingly concerned for him. “He is believed to have a car with him and therefore could have travelled quite a distance in the time since he was last seen, although we do believe he is in the Glasgow area. “We are appealing to anyone who has seen Alexander, or the car mentioned, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.


“We would also appeal to Alexander himself to get in touch with Police to let us know you are okay.”


Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 2149 of Thursday 26 January 2019.
