Police issue appeal for missing 80 year old John Munro from Ayr

Police Scotland is appealing for help to trace a man who is missing from Ayr, following the death of his wife.

John Munro, 80, was last seen at his home in Gould Street around 4:55pm on Sunday 15 May 2016.

John is described as 5ft8, of slim build and gaunt appearance, with white hair.

He sometimes wears glasses and has a distinctive mole between his upper lip and nostril.

Sergeant Simon Ridge from Ayr Police Office said: "John does not keep well and has been going through a difficult time recently, following the death of his wife.

"His family are extremely worried about him and enquiries are ongoing to trace him as soon as possible.

"John is believed to have taken his burgundy coloured Rover 25 car with him when he left and I would ask people to report any sightings of this vehicle, with the registration plate AJ03 OTB, to police.

"John is known to frequent the Ayr area as well as Bannockburn, where his wife is buried.

"Anyone with information on John's whereabouts is urged to contact officers at Ayr Police Office on 101."
