Level 4 restrictions will end for 11 local authorities on Friday Health Secretary confirms
The Scottish Health Secretary, Jeane Freeman, has confirmed during Sunday’s daily briefing that 11 local authorities currently in Level 4 will come out of that level on Friday.
South and East Ayrshire are two of the eleven councils to be in Level 4 while North Ayrshire remained in Level 3.
In a statement published on Twitter and also re-tweeted by First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, the Health Secretary said:
“11 local authorities currently in Level 4 will come out of that level on Friday. That position has not changed.
”The Cabinet will decide on Tuesday what level below 4 they’ll go into. My comments were intended to mean in respect of that decision, all options are on the table.”
It hasn’t yet been confirmed what tiers South and East Ayrshire will be placed into.
A decision is expected to be announced on Tuesday by the First Minister.
