TRAVEL: A76 Lochside Farm to Mid-Lowes Resurfacing
As part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme, Scotland TranServ will resurface 1.1km of the A76 Lochside Farm to Mid-Lowes, between Cumnock and Pathhead. The project has been rescheduled from earlier in the autumn.
In order to complete this short £275k programme of work as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to close the trunk road between Friday the 29th of November and Monday the 2nd of December.
Lewis Dorrans, Scotland TranServ’s design lead on the project said:
“Scotland TranServ has been working with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders to carefully reschedule this short programme of works. We have taken acknowledgment of local events, and the importance of the trunk road to commuters and businesses. We are therefore proposing that the project is carried out at the weekend, avoiding important local holidays, and ahead of the busy Festive season.”
To protect the safety of our workers and the travelling public, Scotland TranServ will close the trunk road during the following times:
8pm on Friday 29th of November until 6am on Monday 2nd of December
Diversions will be in place throughout the short duration of this resurfacing project. Special arrangements have been made for emergency services vehicles. There will be no additional access arrangement made for windfarm traffic during this time.
