TRAVEL: A77 North of Kirkoswald Resurfacing

Scotland TranServ will return to Kirkoswald to resurface the A77 at Auchenblane, to the north of the village.

The works, on behalf of Transport Scotland were postponed earlier this year due to a Yellow Weather Warning from the Met Office.

The programme of work will complete the resurfacing of 0.6km of carriageway under a weekend road closure between Friday 14th and Monday 17th of June.

Dayle Gillespie, Scotland TranServ’s Project Design Lead on the works said:

“This significant programme of work has been scheduled in consultation with local authorities, emergency services and key local stakeholders. Preliminary drainage works were as part of the original programme in February. Every effort has been made to schedule this revised closure outwith the holiday season and avoiding major events.”

To minimise the impact of this major resurfacing project on local communities and businesses, works will be carried out under the following traffic management:

8pm Friday 14th to 6am Monday 17th June

Resurfacing works will be carried out under full weekend closure of the A77, with a diversion in place

Drivers are asked to allow extra time for their journeys.Live trunk road updates are available on trafficscotland.org or by following @trafficscotlandon Twitter.
