Two men sentenced after acting suspicious in a busy Kilmarnock restaurant
On Friday 29th March 2019 Police Scotland were contacted re two men acting suspiciously in with a restaurant in Armour Street, Kilmarnock. Following enquiry by officers two men aged 38 and 43 were arrested and charged with alleged breach of the peace.
Today both men on appearing at Kilmarnock Sheriff court were found guilty of the offence alleged and sentenced to 6 months in prison.
East Ayrshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector Docherty said:
"The two men in this case acted in an appalling manner in a restaurant known to be popular with young children and families. Local officers carried out extensive enquiries with the help of our communities which brought these two men to justice.
I hope this stands as a stark reminder to those involved in this type of activity that it will not be tolerated and Ayrshire Police Division will continue to work with partners and our communities to put these people before the Court."
