POLICE Scotland confirmed yesterday they had arrested a man following an attack in Ayr's Main Street on Sunday 8th May, leaving a man in hospital suffering a serious head injury.
In a statement on social media Ayrshire Police Division said: "Following our earlier appeal for information and witnesses in relation to an alleged serious assault in Main Street, Ayr on Sunday 8th May 2016.
"We can confirm that a 26 year old man has been arrested in relation to this incident.A full report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and we would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal on social media."
