70mph speed limit is set to return on the A77 - Transport Scotland bosses consider

SPEED limits of 50mph were introduced more than 2 years ago on the A77 between Dutch House Roundabout and Bogend.

Drivers have been stuck to the 50mph speed limit for a few years now after the danger road had taken a number of lives.

Now Transport Scotland are 'considering' budging it up to 70mph again, as experts believe the two new bridges have made the road safe again.

Police Officer from Ardrossan, Kevin Lowe was killed in a car crash near Symington in 2006.

Soon after the collision, government officials announce the 50mph limit.

Transport Scotland are yet to make the final decision.
