Ardrossan Coastguard team assist in search for missing woman from Troon

TEAM ASSIST WITH MISSING PERSON SEARCH IN TROON The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out this morning to assist our colleagues from Ayrshire Police Division with a missing person search.

The team was tasked to conduct an extensive search of the coastline between Barassie and Prestwick as part of an ongoing missing person enquiry. The team responded immediately with Senior Coastal Operations Officer Steve Muldoon, Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team and the All Weather and Inshore Lifeboats from Troon Lifeboat station. The search was coordinated by Belfast Coastguard Operations Centre with close liaison taking place between Police Scotland and Coastguard search and rescue assets to establish the required search parameters and thereafter conduct the search. On completion of the search and with nothing of note found, all Coastguard assets were stood down and returned to their respective stations to repack equipment and complete the necessary paperwork prior to booking off duty. Carol Rennie (48) was last seen around 6.50pm on Tuesday 10th April at an address on Wellbeck Crescent, Troon. She is described as 5ft 8, medium build with collar length fair hair. When last seen she was wearing bright coloured sports leggings, a bright coloured sports top and a long grey puffer-style jacket with a furry hood. Anyone with information is requested to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 0920 of Thursday 12th April 2018.
