Murray Gee Mac is preparing to release a new single tomorrow marking another chapter in a long and varied musical career that began in his teens.

Murray Gee Mac, who is from Ardrossan, will release Goodbye on tomorrow Monday 5 January.
Lionel Richie wrote the song and country music legend Kenny Rogers originally recorded it. Known for its reflective lyrics and emotional depth, the ballad explores themes of love, loss and remembrance.
Murray has recorded the song as a personal tribute to his late mother, who passed away a few years ago. He said the track holds special meaning for him and hopes listeners will connect with its message, describing it as a song that encourages people to pause and reflect on loved ones they have lost.
The single will be available to download and stream on major platforms, including iTunes, Amazon, and other digital music services, from its release date.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Murray said he is looking forward to the year ahead and has a number of plans in place for 2026.
He explained that his long-standing love of country music has recently influenced his live performances, with several country songs now featuring in his show.
He also noted the growing popularity of the genre and the impact of modern artists who have helped bring country music to a wider audience.
Murray revealed that he has received interest from a music producer based in Nashville, with discussions taking place about recording new material. He described the prospect as an exciting opportunity and a potential next step in his career.
His musical journey began at the age of 15, when he became a recording artist alongside his brothers George and Robert as part of a family group known as The 3 Macs.
Since then, Murray has performed extensively, working with a range of agents and appearing at venues both at home and abroad.
He has also spent time performing on luxury cruise liners, an experience he described as particularly special and one that allowed him to see the world while continuing to do what he loves.
Despite travelling widely for work, Murray says Ayrshire remains firmly at the centre of his life. He described the area as his home and a place of peace away from the demands of a busy performing schedule, praising the region’s scenery and sense of calm.
Reflecting on changes within the music industry, Murray acknowledged that the business has evolved significantly over the years.
However, he said performing live, particularly alongside musicians on stage, remains the most rewarding aspect of his career and continues to drive his passion for music.
