Ayr Boxing Club’s rising star Luke Armit has returned home a champion after securing a gold medal at an international boxing tournament in Poland.

Luke was part of a five-strong team representing Boxing Alliance Scotland, which also included Reo Martin, George Hamilton, Antoni Kryger, and Reily Hannah. Over five days of intensive training and competition, the young Scottish fighters impressed against strong Polish opposition — each bringing home gold.

The squad was supported by coaches John Evans, Craig Ferrie, and Allan Bell, who volunteered their time to travel with the team and ensure the experience was both positive and professional.

The tournament also marked an important milestone for Boxing Alliance Scotland, signalling the beginning of its Boxer Development Training Programme. The new initiative aims to create a clear and transparent selection process for both domestic and international competitions, giving boxers across Scotland greater opportunities to develop and compete at a high level.

A spokesperson for Boxing Alliance Scotland praised the dedication shown by the young athletes and coaching staff, adding that the results in Poland demonstrate the strength and potential of Scotland’s next generation of boxing talent.
For Ayr Boxing Club, Luke’s gold medal is a proud achievement and another example of the club’s growing success on the international stage
