Ayr-based The Good Travel Company is celebrating a major milestone in 2026 as the independent travel business marks its 15th year in operation, following a period of significant investment and national industry recognition.

Founded on a passion for travel and personalised service, the company has grown steadily over the past decade and a half, building a loyal client base across Ayrshire and beyond. Many bookings now come through repeat customers, friends and family, with the business continuing to emphasise the value of expert advice and face-to-face service at a time when much of the travel market has shifted online.

The company’s roots lie in a long-standing love of travel, beginning with family holidays in southern Spain and later shaped by time spent living in Australia. That early exposure led to extensive worldwide travel and the development of deep industry knowledge, which now underpins the tailored experiences offered to clients.

During 2025, The Good Travel Company invested heavily in expanding its team and upgrading its retail premises, introducing a new luxury lounge space designed to offer a relaxed, appointment-based booking experience. The firm believes that personal service, expertise and trust remain key differentiators in an increasingly digital marketplace.

The agency also acts as a booking centre for a wide range of major tour operators, including Jet2holidays and TUI, with pricing that is often comparable to, or better than, online platforms. This approach allows customers to benefit from competitive prices while still receiving personalised guidance and aftercare.

The business’s work has recently been recognised at a national level, with The Good Travel Company shortlisted in the Top 5 Travel Agencies in Scotland at the TTG Top 50 Awards 2026. The nomination reflects the strength of the team and the agency’s reputation for quality, service and expertise.

Between them, the team brings first-hand experience of destinations across the globe, with particular strengths in luxury travel, food-led escapes, cruises ranging from contemporary to ultra-luxury and river journeys, Greek island hopping, and bespoke off-the-beaten-track itineraries.

The Good Travel Company continues to cater for a wide range of travel needs, including family holidays, city breaks, cruises and long-haul adventures, while also encouraging residents to support local businesses by booking closer to home.

As it looks ahead to its next chapter, the Ayr agency says it remains proud of what has been built so far and optimistic about the future, with its focus firmly on thoughtful, personal travel planning in a local setting.
