Edurank measures the social media performance of colleges and universities across the UK and Ireland, United States of America and Australia, as well as Business Schools throughout the world.

The Edurank Awards 2017 recognise and celebrate the success of social media marketing in the education sector for 2016.

Ayrshire College became the only college or university in Scotland to receive an award when it won the ‘Best Twitter Performance’ and ‘Best LinkedIn Performance’ awards.

Social media performance has been analysed by Edurank since September 2015.

They use a formula to determine how social media channels are being used by colleges and universities, and how students are engaging with them, to give an accurate index of the most effective education institutions across each social media platform.

The rankings are published each month with a breakdown of scores for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.

Ayrshire College was the best performing UK college for the month of November 2016, with a perfect score of 100/100 on Twitter. The College finished 2nd for the year in 2016.

College vice principal Jackie Galbraith said, “Ayrshire College uses a range of social media to communicate with our different audiences, which include students, employers and the wider public.

“We are delighted that Edurank has acknowledged our LinkedIn activity which is targeted specifically at employers and our extensive use of Twitter which reaches thousands of students.”

Ayrshire College has been shortlisted for the Digital Media award at the forthcoming College Development Network Awards in March.
