Ayrshire DOONFEST set to bring local talent for a jam-packed Weekend festival in Dalrymple!

The 3rd Ayrshire DOONFEST is set to take place this weekend in Dalrymple between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th July with plenty of local talent and entertainment.

DOONFEST issued the following statement to ADN:

"The team had final meeting yesterday, everyone is very excited and there is a real buzz about the village. Work has also started on the community garden, it's looking great."

"This is our third Doonfest, so people now know what to expect. It's a fantastic way to kick off the school summer holidays, with so many free events aimed at every age group. This means the whole village and all visitors can join in with all the fun of Doonfest. Evening tickets are kept to the low price of only £10, however the quality of the bands booked is the same as some of the biggest festivals around."

"We are excited to have local musicians and bands open the festival this coming Friday, giving Doonfest it's unique community feel. Saturday and Sunday are headlined by top bands Melisa Kelly and the Smokin' Crows and Tom McGuire and the Brassholes respectively. Esperanza are bringing some Ska magic on Saturday, complete with brass section."

"Seaside Sons are the first band in the main marquee on Saturday. However, the music starts well before that with the outstanding Hingin by a Threed playing in the bar."

"Sunday has a mass line dance in the marquee with Honky Tonk Heroes and we are thrilled to have the fantastic Mad Ferret Band back on stage on Sunday night in the main marquee. All in all, we feel this is set to be the best Doonfest so far."
