Big Night Out raises £10,000 for Ayrshire Hospice

The Ayrshire Hospice was delighted to receive a cheque for £10,000 from the Big Night Out concert held in February sponsored by Saxen Fire and Security.

Held at The Gaiety, Ayr, The Big Night Out saw a huge range of stellar, variety acts from Ayrshire perform for one night only to raise money for the Ayrshire Hospice.


Ayrshire Hospice Senior Fundraising Officer, Graeme Strawhorn, thanked Saxen for their involvement. He said: “Saxen Fire and Security have been tremendous supporters of the hospice, especially in this our 30th anniversary year and we were delighted to raise £10,000 from what was a great night!”


Based in Darvel, East Ayrshire, the Saxen team are specialists in the security systems industry. John Barclay, owner of Saxen Fire and Security, said: “It was a great event which raised a good amount of money for the hospice. The Saxen team are always happy to support local charity.”


The Big Night Out saw acts such as Dean Park, X Factor’s Nicolas McDonald, Craig Ward from The Voice and many more perform.


 Graeme added: “The Big Night Out was a massive success and the support of Ed Holloway, the Events Alive team and Saxen were all vital in helping us deliver such a great night!”
