The A76 has been closed between Skerrington and Pathway roundabouts due to a gas incident approximately 200m west of the Lochside House Hotel.
The area is safe however the road will remain closed in both directions until 1600 hrs on Tuesday 2 July 2019.
Access to the Lochside House Hotel will be to the east of the hotel via New Cumnock only.
Local diversions are in place via the B7083 Glaisnock Rd/Boig Rd/Connell Park/New Cumnock.
Drivers are reminded to take care and to drive in accordance to the road conditions.
