Police are investigating the ‘unexplained’ death of a woman after a body was found in a house in Crusader Crescent, Stewarton early this morning.

The body was discovered at around 6.20am, but at this stage no formal identification has been made.
A post mortem is to be held.
Meanwhile police investigations are continuing into a fire at a caravan at Peacockbank Farm, also in Stewarton.
A 50-year-old man suffered severe burns in the 5.15am fire. He was taken by ambulance to Crosshouse Hospital where his condition is described as serious.
