Campus police officers update from North Ayrshire

CAMPUS POLICE OFFICERS - NORTH AYRSHIRE

As young people across Ayrshire get set to head back to school our Campus Police Officers and Local Policing Teams are preparing to welcome new pupils and those returning for the next steps in their education.

On Thursday (16th August 2018) Campus Police Officers and those undertaking a School Liaison Officer role in North Ayrshire, met at Irvine Police Office, where they shared best practice and received inputs from an Educational Psychologist and the local Choose Life Coordinator.

Locality Policing Inspector, Colin Convery, said: “Working in partnership with North Ayrshire Council we now have Campus Police Officers at 6 secondary schools in North Ayrshire and members of our Locality Policing Teams who undertake School Liaison duties at the others.

“Today we met to discuss their role, to share best practice and to learn more about key topics and how we can all work together to support our young people here in North Ayrshire.

“We will continue to work with our partners, young people and their parents/carers. I would encourage anyone with any specific concerns to make contact with their Campus or School Liaison Officer through the school or by calling us on 101.”
