The Kilmarnock based theatre that puts on shows 'by the Community for the Community' scooped up an award for Scotland's Best Theatre.
The team from Centrestage picked up the award at the Scottish Hospitality Awards on Tuesday 21st May, which is held annually at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.
Craig Hunter, Centrestage Operations Manager, for the Arts Venue who attended the ceremony said, “We are so delighted that our wonderful Centrestage customers made this possible by taking the time to share their Centrestage experiences, we can’t wait to share this news with them.”
Built in 2006, Centrestage now present over 80 productions each year and welcome thousands of folk from far and wide to enjoy performances from small scale showcases to spectacular Musical Theatre productions such as Phantom of the Opera and Singin' in the Rain.
The theatre says every ticket purchased enabled them to deliver the wider work they do across Ayrshire.
Construction on the new Centrestage Village is due to begin at the end of May on the former site of Kilmarnock Academy and in the heart of the village, there will be the next generation Centrestage Theatre.
"Scheduled to open in Spring 2020, this will allow us to bring people together to enjoy a far broader range of performances, productions and events than ever before."
