A new addition to Ayr’s town centre is already making an impression, as Scottish burger franchise Chilo’s opens its doors on Alloway Place.

With a growing presence across the country, the brand has built a reputation around bold, flavour-led food and generous portions. Its arrival in Ayr adds another dimension to the town’s evolving food scene, offering a modern take on classic comfort food in a relaxed, contemporary setting.

At the heart of the menu are smashed burgers made using Prime Aged Aberdeen Angus beef, cooked fresh to order to achieve a crisp outer layer and juicy centre. Alongside this, chicken options are marinated for 24 hours before being flame-grilled or finished in a range of sauces, from peri peri to Nashville hot.

Signature creations such as the King Kong and Gozilla burgers have become standout items, known for their size, presentation and layered flavours.

A spokesperson for Chilo’s said:

“We are delighted to bring Chilo’s to Ayr. The town has a strong food scene and a great sense of community, and we wanted to create a space where people can come together and enjoy bold flavours in a relaxed setting. Everything we do is about fresh ingredients, quality and making sure every customer leaves satisfied.

The wider menu includes wraps, loaded fries, stacked sandwiches and a range of sides, giving customers a broad choice whether they are looking for a quick meal or something more substantial.

Inside, the Ayr venue offers a bright, open layout with ample seating, designed to suit couples, families and groups gathering for celebrations or informal get-togethers.

The spokesperson added:

“We have designed the space to be welcoming for everyone, whether it is a quick lunch, a family meal or a birthday get-together. We want Chilo’s to be a place people come back to again and again.”

For those who prefer to stay at home, Chilo’s is also available through Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo, making the full menu accessible across the area.

The opening reflects continued investment in Ayr’s town centre, with new businesses contributing to increased footfall and a wider choice of dining options for residents and visitors alike.

Chilo’s brings a recognisable name, a clear identity and a focus on flavour, adding to the growing mix of food destinations shaping the town’s future.
